Wireless Electricity..the new generation of chordless Electricity !!

Now,wireless is fashion, wireless is smartness. But still now,for tranfering electricity,we have to use wire.Still we have to connect our TV with wire,we have to connect our Laptop charger or desktop PC with wire,We have to mange wire in meeting room for sound accommodation. Can you imagine how boring it is !! But this age is going to be end. Now, scientist try to pass electricity via air instead of wire.

WiTricity, a company that's able to power light bulbs using wireless electricity that travels several feet from a power socket, version of wireless electricity -- which converts power into a magnetic field and sends it sailing through the air at a particular frequency -- still needs to be refined a bit, they hope, but should be commercially available soon.

Engineers have developed several ways to convert electricity into something that's safe to send through the air without a wire. Some of their technologies are available on commercial scales, but they have some limits.
  • Low-level power :One set of researchers is able to send power over long distances but in very small amounts.

  • Power pads :Another type of wireless electricity technology can send large amounts of power over very small distances, often not more than a few centimeters.

  • Magnetically coupled resonance :Ultimately, Giler's group from MIT wants to combine the best of both worlds: large amounts of power sent over long distances. Their technology is called "magnetically coupled resonance," and it basically sends a magnetic field through the air at a specific frequency that an an enabled phone or TV can pick up and turn back into electricity. It works kind of like sound. Think about how an opera singer can break a wine glass if he sings at just the right frequency. Adding the technology to cell phones, mp3 players and other devices should not increase their cost much, he said.

Technology changed rapidly. We hope we also will get the fruit of this change quickly.

Which is more effective?..Online Education or Traditional Education ?

Now,technology bring us more close and by the blessing of technology, distance learning is growing more popular. But how effective this distance learning? Is it going to the competitor of traditional face to face learning? Is the traditional learning will vanish near future?

According to a recent study conducted by SRI International for the US Department of Education, online learners perform slightly better than students in traditional face-to-face classrooms. The study analyzed research that compared online and conventional learning at institutions of higher education and in K-12 settings between 1996 and 2008.A key finding of the report is that students doing partial or all course work online rank, on average, in the 59th percentile, meaning better than 59% of all those who were scored; whereas students in traditional classrooms ranked in the 50th percentile. Though this significant difference doesn't quite mean the end of institutional schools, it will help put an end to the myth that online learning is inferior to traditional learning.

I like the educational animation to understand any topics. It gives me a physical view from abstract view which help me to understand the topics clearly and so,I usually try to find out the video tutorial with animation for learning any topics. And I personally think, this kinds of technical materials improve our children knowledge and learning whether they learn from distance or face to face. But, as the education cost is increasing, parent want to keep their child close education,Internet use increasing and overall the quality, reliability and importance of distance learning increase,So, This distance learning is going to the competitor of face to face traditional learning in near future no doubt.
